This year’s Euroluce at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan was marked by the 30th anniversary of our Brand van Egmond atelier. Three new lighting designs were launched and at the same time, our most iconic collections were on display, handpicked by founder and designer William Brand. It was a true coup de théâtre!
LINEA
Truthful and pure, the Linea makes a precise yet playful statement through thin lines of beauty. Just like airplanes can leave a composition of line-shaped clouds – the passing proof of human movement in the air – the Linea is like a drawing of enlightening lines in the sky. Temporarily in mid-air, permanently illuminating. Creating a beautiful light is like good architecture: a matter of proportions.
GALAXY
The Galaxy is a constellation of energy, movement and form. Propelling away from the centre of gravity towards clouds of stardust and outer planets. Orbiting through space, the composition offers a different experience when seen from different angles. Through an interaction between lines and globes, the energy and movement are made visible. Avant-Garde by nature, the shapes and forms of the Galaxy relate to each other as the planets towards the sun. The artist and the dreamer both know, space is where an image grows.
ORPHEUS
Perhaps one of the most famous Greek myths – it has inspired many important painters – is the story of Orpheus. We have found several objects of desire amidst the nymphs and trees and formed them into new lights. A precious stone, a golden mineral and a delicate porcelain rose: all captured in a protective embrace of casted bronze.
