A vision to create without restraint
Brand van Egmond was founded in 1989 by architect and sculptor William Brand, with one clear intention: to create without restraint. His background as a multidisciplinary creator allowed him to see light as a structural and emotional element, not just a technical necessity. Early on, the atelier gained recognition for handcrafted lighting sculptures that combined bold form, refined detail and a clear artistic voice. This commitment continues to guide our work more than three decades later.
Dutch design, craft and innovation
Today, the Brand van Egmond atelier and workshop are based in Naarden, where design, prototyping and production are all housed under one roof. This historic town is a unique location where Dutch design, craftsmanship and innovation naturally converge. From here, our handcrafted lighting has found its way into iconic hotels, fine dining spaces, embassies and cultural venues, as well as some of the most unique private residences in the world.
