Nestled in the village of Noordeloos, De Gieser Wildeman brings together the warmth of a traditional farmhouse, the calm of its garden setting, and the precision of contemporary gastronomy. The restaurant’s interior has been shaped with restraint and clarity, allowing the experience of the space — and the food it serves — to remain at the centre.
For its recent refresh, Brand van Egmond was invited to contribute lighting alongside the interiors by Lichtstudio Kwadraat and Atelier Delonne. In the main dining areas, the LOUISE collection introduces a measured rhythm and a sense of gentle movement. Its sculptural forms cast a warm, atmospheric glow that works in step with the refined interior, the textures of the thatched roof, and the softer light that enters through the conservatory overlooking the garden.
Alongside Louise, the ORPHEUS Art Element offers a quieter and more intimate counterpoint. At its centre is a golden pear — a direct and poetic reference to the Gieser-Wildeman pear from which the restaurant takes its name, and to the rural landscape that surrounds it. Set within a hand-crafted Bronze Dark Patina frame and softly lit, the piece becomes more than a decorative accent. It acts as a visual pause, connecting the restaurant’s identity to its surroundings with a subtle sense of origin and seasonality.
Projects such as De Gieser Wildeman begin with close attention to place, material, and mood. When lighting is developed in dialogue with its context, it becomes part of the atmosphere itself — not added to the experience, but embedded within it.
